က်ေနာ္ ဇနီး ဘန္တ ဆင္း က ဖုန္းနဲ႕ အၾကာႀကီး စကားေျပာရတာ အလြန္၀ါသနာပါတယ္။ တခါ တခါေျပာလိုက္ရင္ တစ္နာရီေက်ာ္ ၾကာတယ္။ တစ္ေန႕ေတာ့ သူမ ၂၅ မိနွစ္ပဲေျပာၿပီး ဖုန္းခ်လိုက္တယ္။ ဒီေန႕ တယ္ထူးဆန္းပါလား မိန္းမရ။ ဘယ္လို ျဖစ္တာတုန္း ဒီေန႕ တယ္လီဖုန္းေျပာတာ တစ္နာရီ မေက်ာ္ပါလား။ က်မ ဖုန္းမွားေခၚမိတာ။ (Khushwant Singh)

Small Time Thief

လူငယ္ေလး တစ္ေယာက္ နာရီခိုးမႈ အတြက္ ရဲက ဖမ္းၿပီး အခ်ဴပ္ခန္းထဲ ထည့္လိုက္တယ္။ အေစာင့္ရဲ႕ ေက်ာင္းသား အရြယ္ဆိုေတာ့ သနားၿပီးေျပာတယ္။ မင္းကြာ အေသးမႊားေလးေတြနဲ႕ အခ်ိန္ကုန္ခံေနတာ ဘဏ္ကို ဓားျပတိုက္ပါလားကြာ။ က်ေနာ္ ေက်ာင္းက ျပန္လာေတာ့ ဘဏ္ေတြက ပိတ္ထားလို႕ဗ်။

စာေရးမ်ား ရဲ႕ နိဳင္ငံ

က်ား နွစ္ေကာင္ ေဒလီ တိရစၦာန္ရုံကေန ေပ်ာက္သြားတာ ဘယ္လိုမွ ရွာလို႕ မရဘူး။ ေျခာက္လေလာက္ၾကာတဲ့အခါ ရုတ္တရက္ က်ားနွစ္ေကာင္ ျပန္ေရာက္လာတယ္။ တစ္ေကာင္ ပိန္ခ်ဴန္း ေနၿပီး တစ္ေကာင္က ဆူၿဖိဴး ၀ေနတယ္။

တစ္ေကာင္ကေျပာတယ္ ငါေတာ္ေတာ္ ကံဆိုးတယ္ကြ။ ငါ ရာဂ်စ္စတန္ ကိုေရာက္သြားတာ အဲဒီမွာ ငတ္မြတ္ေခါင္းပါးေနတယ္။ ႏြားေတြ ကြ်ဲေတြကလဲ ေသေနတယ္။ ငါ ဖမ္းစားတဲ့ လူေတြကလဲ အသား မပါသေလာက္ပဲကြ။ ဒီမွာက ေက်နပ္စရာေကာင္းတဲ့ အစားေသာက္ ရနိဳင္တယ္ လို႕ ဆုံးျဖတ္ၿပီ ျပန္လာခဲ့တာ။ မင္းကေရာ ေျပာပါအုန္း။

ငါကေတာ့ မင္းနဲ႕ ဆန္႕က်င္ဘက္ပဲကြ။ ငါက ကံေကာင္းတယ္ေျပာ၇မယ္။ အစုိးရ ရုံးေရာက္သြားတယ္။ ေလွကားေအာက္မွာ ပုန္းေနခဲ့ၿပီ ညေနတိုင္း ရုံးက ထြက္လာတဲ့ စာေရးေတြကို ငါဖမ္းၿပီး စားခဲ့တာ ေျခာက္လ ၾကာတာေတာင္ ဘယ္သူမွ သတိမထားမိဘူး။ မေန႕ကေတာ့ ငါ အမွားလုပ္မိတယ္ကြ မနက္ခင္းတိုင္း သူတို႕ကို လဘက္ရည္ ေဖ်ာ္ေပးတဲ့သူကို ငါ ဖမ္းစားမိတယ္ကြ။ သူတို႕က အဲဒီ လဘက္ရည္ေဖ်ာ္ သမားကို လိုက္ရွာတာ ေလွကားေအာက္မွာ ပုန္းေနတဲ့ ငါကိုေတြ႕သြားၿပီး သူတို႕က ငါကို ေမာင္းထုတ္လိုက္တယ္။ ဒါနဲ႕ တိရစၦာန္ရုံက လုံျခဳံတယ္ လို႕ ေတြးမိၿပီး ျပန္လာခဲ့တာပဲ။

1. Mg Mg is far more hardworking than the other boys. That is why he gets ahead and gains distinctions. He is cleverer than the rest of the class.

2. King Mg got ahead of you in that test.

3. Get along/ along with== ျဖစ္ေျမာက္ေအာင္လုပ္သည္။ သင့္ျမတ္သည္။

1. I cannot get along without your help. I cannot manage without your help.

2. These two sisters could never get along. One could not get along with the other.

4. Get away (from)==လြတ္ထြက္သည္။

1. One of the prisoners got away. The police were after the man that escaped.

2. Sometimes I want to get away from the noise and bustle of the city.

5. Get away with== မထိုက္တန္ဘဲ ေအာင္ျမင္သည္။

1.If you cheat in the examination you cannot expect to get away with it. You cannot expect to escape punishment.

အဂၤလိပ္ သခၤန္းစာ (၁၁)

1. Fight for==အတြက္ တိုက္ခုိက္သည္။

1. Maha Bandula died fighting for the country. He gave his life in the cause of freedom.

2. The whole nation resolved to fight for freedom. They would work in the cause of national freedom.

2. Fight against/ with== ႏွင့္ တိုက္ခိုက္သည္။

1. England fought against Germany in the First Great War.

2. We fight against many difficulties. (အခက္ခဲေတြကို တိုက္ဖ်က္သည္)

3. Fight over==နွင့္ပါတ္သက္ၿပီး ရန္ျဖစ္သည္။

1. They were fighting over a piece of land. The cause of their quarrel was a piece of land.

2. I wouldn’t fight with you over a little of pen. If you want it you can take it.

4. Find fault with== ကို အျပစ္ရွာသည္။

1. It is easy to find fault with the work of others. Why are you always finding fault with me?

5. Fool about/ around==ေပါေၾကာင္ေၾကာင္ လုပ္သည္။ မဟုတ္တယုတ္လုပ္သည္။

1. Stop fooling about and get to work. It is time you stopped wasting your time and started working in earnest.

2. How can he finish his work in time? He is always fooling around.

ေယာက်္ားဆိုတာ

အမ်ိဴးသား တစ္ေယာက္ (တရားရုံးမွာ လက္ထပ္ လက္မွတ္ထုိး ၿပီးေနာက္ အိမ္ေရာက္တဲ့အခါ) ထိုင္ၿပီး သဲသဲမဲမဲ တစ္စုံတခုကို လက္ထပ္စာခ်ဴပ္မွာ ရွာေဖြပါေတာ့တယ္။ အေတာ္ေလၾကာၾကာ သတိထားမိတဲ့ ဇနီးက လက္ထပ္စာခ်ဴပ္မွာ ရွင္ဘာရွာေနတာလဲ လို႕ေမးေတာ့။ အမ်ိဴးသားက သက္တမ္းကုန္ဆုံးမဲ့ ရက္ရွာေနတာေလ။

1. Fall back upon=ျပန္မွီခိုသည္။

1. I am trying to get a new job. If I fail to get it I must fall back upon my old job.

2. Every time I was in trouble I had to fall back upon my parents.  I can always rely on them; they never fail me.

2. Fall behind= ေနာက္က်က်န္ရစ္သည္။

1. My illness kept me away from school and soon I fall behind in my studies. I could not catch up with my class-mates.

2. I want to pay my fees regularly. I do not want to fall behind in my payments.

3. Fall in love with=ခ်စ္ႀကိက္သည္။

1. Hla Pe fell in love with Tint Tint.

2. They fell in love with each other. They grew up together before they fell in love.

4. Fall through= မေအာင္မျမင္ျဖစ္သည္။

1. We planned to have a big picnic, but our plans fell through because of the stormy weather.

2. My plan to take a trip to Myingyan fell through. It came to nothing.

5. Feel like=ခ်င္သည္။ ခ်င္တယ္။

1. I don’t feel like reading tonight. I have no wish to read.

2. I feel like taking a rest. I feel like a rest. I wish to take a rest.

3. I don’t feel like a walk just now.

ေၾသာ္ မိန္းမ

A young lady came home very sad from a date. She told he mother, “Anthony proposed to me an hour ago.” “Then why are you so sad?” her mother asked. “Because he also told me he is an atheist, Mom, he doesn’t even believe there’s a Hell.” Her mother replied, “Marry him anyway. Between two of us, we’ll show him how wrong he is.”

မိန္းမပ်ိဴ တစ္ေယာက္ ခ်ိန္းေတြ႕ရာမွ စိတ္ပ်က္ လက္ပ်က္ နဲ႕ အိမ္ကိုျပန္လာခဲ့တယ္။ သူမက သူအေမကို ေျပာတယ္ လြန္ခ့ဲတဲ့ တနာရီေက်ာ္က အန္တိုနီက သူကို အခ်စ္ေရး ဆိုတယ္။ ဒါဆို ဘာလို စိတ္ပ်က္ လက္ပ်က္ျဖစ္ေနတာလဲလို႕ သူမ အေမက ေမးတယ္။ အေမေ၇ သူက ဘုရားမဲ့ သမား ၿပီးေတာ့ ငရဲရွိတယ္ဆိုတာကိုလဲ မယံုဘူး။ ညညး္ သူကို ဘယ္နည္းနဲ႕ျဖစ္ျဖစ္ လက္ထပ္ လိုက္။ ငါတို႕ေပါင္းၿပီး ငရဲရွိေၾကာင္း သူမွားေၾကာင္း လုပ္ျပရမယ္။
